Oahu luau prices in 2026

A luau is one of the most expensive evenings of an Oahu trip, and the ticket price is only part of it. Here is what every major luau charges in 2026, what gets added on top, and how to pay less without ending up in the back row.

What gets added on top

Three things. Tax: Chief's, Aloha Kai and several others quote prices before Hawaii's general excise tax. The shuttle: $28 to $39 per person round trip from Waikiki to the west-side, North Shore and east-side luaus (Toa has none; you drive). Tips: usually not included; about 10 percent at a buffet luau and 15 percent with table service is the common guideline. A family of four at a mid-range west-side luau with the shuttle can easily pass $700 for the night.

How to pay less

Stay in Waikiki for the luau: the Waikiki luaus skip the shuttle, and the Waikiki luau buffet on Viator starts around $101. Take the midday seating at Toa: the 12:30 PM Silver ticket is $20 cheaper than the evening one, with the same valley admission. Watch for direct promotions: several luaus run promo codes and Hawaii resident discounts on their own sites. And do not overspend on the top tier: the middle tier usually buys most of the view. Viator's price is often a few dollars above the cheapest direct ticket, but includes the fees and free cancellation up to 24 hours before, which is worth having if your plans might change.
